The Founder and Head Pastor of Fountain Gate Chapel, Reverend Eastwood Anaba, has sparked a conversation about intimacy in marriage.
In a video going viral on social media, when asked if men should thank their wives after sex, Reverend Anaba emphasised that men should indeed express gratitude, but not just for the act itself.
According to Reverend Anaba, many women do not experience orgasm during sex, and men often fail to provide adequate foreplay, leading to discomfort and even pain for their partners.
“A lot of the men, especially as they grow older, they find it difficult to sustain an erection for long. So, they are not even there long enough for the woman to get an orgasm.
“And these are men who don’t know anything about foreplay. They don’t know anything about how to use their hands. They don’t know anything about sexual vaginal lubricants or penile lubricants,” he said.
Reverend Anaba also stressed that men should be thankful for their wives’ endurance and willingness to participate in sex, despite the potential discomfort or pain.
“So, you enter this woman without any form of lubrication and leave her with bruises. In your case, you should not be thanking her. You should be worshipping her for inflicting injuries on her,” he added.
He encouraged men to prioritise their partners’ pleasure and well-being, recognising that women often bear the physical and emotional burdens of intimacy.
