It’s that time of the year again – the transfer window is now open until September 1 and it’s sure to be a busy period with clubs looking to make big signings ahead of next season.

Here are today’s latest developments from Simon Jones and the Daily Mail Sport team…

    Altay BYE-indir?

Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir is a target for Spanish side Celta Vigo.

The Turkey international was on the bench on Saturday for United’s friendly against Atletico Madrid.

Bayindir had interest from Besiktas early in the window but they have since signed Alexander Nubel from Bayern Munich.

The 28-year-old Bayindir has other offers but Vigo are hopeful of reaching an agreement.

    Toffees eye up United youngster

Everton are in talks over a move for Manchester United striker Ethan Wheatley.

The deal is viewed as one for the club’s academy. Everton technical director Nick Coc worked with Wheatley while with United’s academy.

The 20-year-old Wheatley was on loan at Bradford City last season and has been considering offers from abroad.

Dutch side Cambuur were keen to take him on loan.

    Cherries land Benfica defender

Bournemouth have completed the signing of Portugal international defender Antonio Silva from Benfica.

The transfer is worth £21.4m plus a potential £4.3m in add-ons.

‘The mentality is always to win. I will try my best, and I will play for the fans,’ said Silva.

‘It’s a pleasure to play for Bournemouth and in the Premier League. I can’t wait to start the season with my team-mates and I’m excited to be here.’

    Hammers youngster heading to Belgium

West Ham midfielder Freddie Potts is poised to join Club Brugge in a £10.5million deal.

The 22-year-old is due to travel to undergo a medical.

The Hammers have been trying to find agreement with Celtic for midfielder Arne Engels but had their latest offer rejected.

England U21 star swapping French clubs

England U21 defender Charlie Cresswell is joining Rennes on an initial loan from Toulouse.

The 23-year-old centre-back has had tentative interest from West Ham, Fulham and Crystal Palace but will undergo a medical tomorrow before joining the French side.

Rennes have an obligation to buy for £19m and a 10percent sell-on had been included.

    Tigers prowl for Nice meal

Hull City are in talks over a £17million deal for Nice winger Mohamed Ali-Cho.

The 22-year-old who can play across the frontline has also attracted interest from Monaco.

The France U21 international had spells with Paris St Germain and Everton as a teenager before signing for Angers.

Born in France, raised in England, and of Ivorian and Moroccan descent, Cho is eligible for all four national teams. He was a youth international for England U16s.

    Tottenham academy graduate courts interest

Alkmaar striker Troy Parrott is attracting interest from Como, Ajax, PSV Eindhoven and Real Betis.

The former Tottenham academy graduate is in demand after scoring 31 goals last season.

Alkmaar are reluctant to sell the 24-year-old Republic of Ireland international to a rival Dutch club.

Chelsea inch closer to Henderson move

Chelsea have agreed terms with England midfielder Jordan Henderson.

The 36-year-old will be confirmed as a Chelsea player after putting pen to paper this weekend.

Henderson was a free agent after mutually agreeing cancel his contract with Brentford last week.

Brentford have moved to sign Lens midfielder Mamadou Sangare for £39m.

The 24-year-old completed a medical on Friday and is set to sign a five-year contract with an extra year’s option.

    Tractor Boys revisit Enciso signing

Ipswich Town are in talks with Strasbourg over the permanent signing of forward Julio Enciso.

The 22-year-old Paraguay international had an impressive spell on loan at Ipswich in their last Premier League season in 2024/25. He also worked with Ipswich boss Gary O’Neil at Strasbourg last season.

Meanwhile, Strasbourg may yet take 19-year-old Chelsea right-back Godwin Antwi on loan.

West London calling for Real Madrid talent?

Fulham remain in discussions with Real Madrid over the signing of Thiago Pitarch.

As Daily Mail Sport reported last month, the teenager is wanted by Fulham manager Alvaro Arbeloa as well as £43million duo Gonzalo Garcia and Cesar Palacios, who are due in London today.

At 18 years and 226 days, Pitarch became Madrid’s youngest player to start twice in the Champions League knockout stages, surpassing Brazil forward Vinicius Jr’s record by 10 days.

Thiago Pitarch is one of a number of Real Madrid stars eyed by Fulham's new manager Alvaro Arbeloa, who was interim manager at the Bernabeu last term
