Jeremy Doku visited Otumfuo at the Manhyia Palace

Some supporters of Premier League side Manchester City are calling on their players via social media to visit Ghana, following the impressive performances of Jeremy Doku in recent times.

It will be recalled that Doku visited the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, during his trip to Ghana to spend time with his family in July 2025.

During the visit, Doku bowed before Otumfuo, who laid his hand on the player and offered prayers. Afterwards, the Belgian winger presented his Manchester City jersey to Otumfuo and posed for pictures together.

Since then, Doku has enjoyed a remarkable surge in form, establishing himself as one of the standout performers for the Cityzens. He both scored and provided an assist in their 3–0 victory over Liverpool.

After the game, some City fans took to social media, urging other players to visit Ghana and receive similar blessings to boost their performances.

One fan specifically mentioned Oscar Bobb and Savinho, who have struggled for consistency, urging them to follow Doku’s footsteps to help the team excel.

Doku was also granted a Ghanaian passport by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who encouraged the player to return to the country whenever possible to experience the culture and connect with his roots.
