Manchester City have strongly condemned racist abuse directed at their forward Antoine Semenyo and defender Marc Guéhi following incidents linked to recent matches.

In a statement released on Tuesday, the former Premier League champions denounced the abuse targeting Semenyo during a match and welcomed the swift response from Everton and local authorities to identify the individual responsible. The club emphasized that such behaviour has no place in football or society.

City also expressed disappointment over separate racist abuse aimed at Guéhi on social media, describing the posts as “vile” and unacceptable. The club reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on discrimination, pledging continued support for both players.

“Manchester City strongly condemns the racist abuse directed towards Antoine Semenyo,” the statement read. “We are incredibly disappointed to hear that Marc Guéhi was subject to a series of vile racist social media posts.” Man City played a 3-3 draw away at Everton, a result that seems to hand a huge advantage to Arsenal as the title race heats up.

The club further stressed its commitment to combating racism in the sport, adding that it will continue to stand with players and governing bodies to ensure football remains inclusive and respectful for all participants and supporters.
