Swedish giants Malmö FF have completed the signing of promising Ghanaian youngster Isaac Assibu from the West African Football Academy (WAFA), bolstering their youth ranks with another emerging talent.
Assibu has been integrated into Malmö’s U-19 squad, as the club continues to invest in young prospects from Africa. His move mirrors that of fellow Ghanaian forward Yassin Mohammed, who made a similar switch from WAFA to the Swedish side last year.
The transfer highlights Malmö FF’s growing interest in nurturing talent from Ghana, particularly through its relationship with WAFA, a club renowned for producing technically gifted players.
Speaking after completing the move, Assibu expressed his excitement and determination to succeed at his new club.
“I am very proud to be here. My background has taught me the importance of hard work and always being hungry to get better. I am here at Malmö FF to develop and give everything for the club,” he said.
The young midfielder is expected to continue his development within the club’s youth system, with hopes of eventually breaking into the senior team.
His arrival adds to the increasing number of Ghanaian players plying their trade in European football, underlining the country’s reputation as a hub for emerging talent.
