Swedish champions Malmö FF have completed the signing of Ghanaian winger Isaac Assibu from West African Football Academy SC, bolstering their squad with a promising young attacking option.
The deal, finalized after weeks of scouting and negotiations, sees the 18-year-old make the leap from one of Ghana’s most respected football academies to a leading club in Scandinavia. Assibu has signed a permanent contract, with Malmö viewing him as a long-term investment rather than an immediate first-team addition.
Assibu spent four years at WAFA SC, featuring in the Volta FA Division Two League and earning registration for the ongoing Division One League season. His move was completed shortly after his 18th birthday, paving the way for his first professional stint in Europe.
Known for his blistering pace, direct dribbling and ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations, Assibu had attracted interest from several European clubs before Malmö moved decisively to secure his signature.
He is expected to begin with the club’s development side or feature in domestic cup competitions as he adapts to Swedish football, with a gradual pathway to regular Allsvenskan involvement.
