English-Ghanaian midfielder Malachi Boateng delivered a dramatic late equaliser to earn Plymouth Argyle a 2-2 draw against Exeter City in a thrilling League One encounter at Home Park.
The visitors took the lead shortly after the restart through Reece Cole, putting Exeter in control of proceedings. Plymouth responded late on, with Lorent Tolaj restoring parity in the 79th minute following sustained pressure from the hosts.
Exeter appeared to have snatched victory when Jayden Wareham struck in the 87th minute, finishing off a well-worked move assisted by Ilmari Niskanen. However, Boateng had the final say, arriving in the box deep into stoppage time to fire home a crucial equalizer and spark celebrations among the home supporters.
The 23-year-old continues to impress this season, now registering four goals and seven assists in 42 league appearances. Plymouth will next face AFC Wimbledon away on April 18 as they aim to build momentum in their push up the table.
