The National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP-elect for Ketu North, Edem Agbana, has expressed confidence in President-elect John Dramani Mahama’s readiness to assume leadership once again.
He has emphasised that Mahama would bring a wealth of experience to the table.
“President Mahama is returning to office equipped with extensive experience, as a former vice president, a former president, and an opposition leader for eight years,” Edem said in an interview on CITI FM on December 13, 2024.
Mahama, who served as Ghana’s president from 2012 to 2017, has remained a significant figure in the country’s political landscape, especially during his time in opposition.
According to Edem, having served both as president and as opposition leader has given Mahama a deep understanding of the challenges facing the country.
“This period of reflection has undoubtedly strengthened his resolve and deepened his understanding of governance,” he stated.
Edem further noted that Mahama’s ability to approach governance from multiple perspectives would be an asset as he takes on the responsibilities of leadership once more.
He also emphasised the importance of collaboration and understanding in meeting the expectations of Ghanaians, urging those who will work under Mahama’s administration to emulate his leadership qualities and dedication.
“I am confident that President Mahama and the NDC will rise to the occasion and deliver on their promises,” Edem concluded.
