Ghanaian actress, Maame Serwaa, has said she has no plans to move abroad permanently. She cited fears of public ridicule from Ghanaians if she takes on certain jobs overseas.

Speaking on Okay FM with Nana Romeo, she explained that while she occasionally travels outside Ghana, those trips are strictly for professional purposes, and she always returns home once her work is done.

According to her, relocating abroad is not something she is considering unless it involves furthering her education. She noted that if she were ever to live abroad, she would prefer to stay active by working, rather than being idle. However, she believes that Ghanaians are often quick to judge others based on their occupation and might mock her for taking up simple or service-related jobs.

Maame Serwaa expressed that even if she were to work at a fast-food restaurant like McDonald’s, many Ghanaians would still criticize her, assuming she squandered her earnings in Ghana before leaving. She emphasized that such attitudes make it difficult for public figures to pursue ordinary but decent work abroad without being subjected to gossip or harsh opinions.

Reflecting on her journey in the movie industry, the actress acknowledged that while her career is still evolving, she is proud of the progress she has made. She said she started acting at a young age and remains grateful for the recognition and success she has achieved, even though she continues to strive for greater heights.
