Several influential figures from the media and creative arts industry have gathered in Parliament to support the minister-designate for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie.

In a video shared by GhanaWeb, notable personalities, including actress Maame Dokono, musician Sherifa Gunu, Queenmother and media personality Jane Awindor, former Deputy National Theatre CEO Akosua Abdallah, and the late Komla Dumor’s father, were seen awaiting the vetting of Dzifa Gomashie.

These individuals were spotted in the ‘Appointment Committee Hall’, seated at the spot behind the ministerial candidate.

Dzifa Gomashie is scheduled to appear before the committee today, Wednesday, January 22, 2025, for her vetting, which will determine her confirmation as the substantive minister.

This marks the committee’s fourth sitting, as they expedite the vetting process to enable President John Dramani Mahama to form his government.

Dzifa Gomashie was nominated for the position on January 16, 2025, in a statement signed by the Acting Spokesperson to the President, Felix Kwakye Ofosu.

Having served as the Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts under Mahama’s administration from 2013 to 2017, Dzifa Gomashie is also a two-term Member of Parliament for Ketu South Constituency, where she has championed development and community empowerment initiatives.
