M.anifest is a Ghanaian rapper

Rapper M.anifest has criticised a JoyPrime post that featured comments from security analyst Richard Kumadoe regarding the recent assault of two civilians by a soldier inside a pharmacy at Burma Camp.

Reacting to a video shared on X by JoyPrime on November 1, 2025, the rapper described the media outlet’s decision to promote what he called an “irresponsible and poorly formed opinion” as troubling.

According to him, giving airtime to such commentary under the guise of expert analysis risks normalising or excusing abusive conduct.

“It’s grossly irresponsible to platform such poorly formed opinions unchallenged for clicks and views. You’re also legitimising it with the ‘expert’ description. What’s the message here? Must fear and succumb?” M.anifest wrote.

His reaction followed a JoyPrime segment in which security expert Richard Kumadoe cautioned civilians to avoid engaging with enraged military personnel, warning that such confrontations could escalate into violence.

Speaking on October 31, 2025, Kumadoe addressed the viral CCTV footage showing a soldier assaulting a pharmacy attendant and a female customer.

While he condemned the officer’s conduct, he also suggested that civilians share a responsibility to de-escalate tense encounters involving military officers.

“The soldier has a duty of care, and we also have a responsibility to provide customer service within a military zone. These officers understand the consequences of unprofessional behaviour, but sometimes they disregard them, and that’s part of their training,” he explained.

He further added that if he were in the young woman’s position, he would have avoided engaging with the angry soldier and instead reported the matter to the appropriate authorities.

“If I were the young lady, even though she had every right to be there and her father holds a senior position in the army, I wouldn’t have engaged with an angry soldier. I would’ve walked away and filed a report indicating that one of the officers might be experiencing emotional or psychological distress, especially after assaulting someone. The ramifications are serious,” he said.
