Ghanaian rapper Lyrical Joe has expressed his disappointment over not winning the Best Rap Performance award at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards.

Speaking on Dabreak Hitz with DJ Slim and Doreen Avio, he said it was tough to accept the loss because of his hard work on his song 5th August 8.

“I was disappointed this year. Last year’s 5th August brought me a lot of stress. It’s not easy to shoot a 10-minute hip-hop video and keep the quality high,” he said.

Lyrical Joe also mentioned that he always promotes his work when nominated, and his fans are very active online to support him.

“Whenever I’m nominated, I campaign. My fans go all out online. They want us to win Best Rap Performance,” he explained.

Even though he was unhappy about not winning, he chose not to complain publicly out of respect for the winners.

“There’s no good way to complain. You just have to let it go,” he added.
