In a video making rounds on social media on September 2, 2025, she expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Ghanaians for their immense support to her family during these hard times.

Serwaa, who had since flown into the country from Germany for her husband’s funeral preparations, took a moment to interact with Ghanaians.

She said, “Hi Ghanaians, my friends and my country. I thank you all very much for your love, support, and above all, for your contribution during these hard times. Thank you,” she said in a mixture of English and Dutch.

Akosua Serwaa’s statement comes on the back of the one-week observation of her late husband, Daddy Lumba, which was held at the Black Star Square on August 30, 2025.

The event witnessed the appearance of several prominent personalities in the country, including the former President, Nana Akufo-Addo, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, and some key entertainment personalities.

Highlife legend, Daddy Lumba, passed away on July 26, 2025, at The Bank Hospital in Accra after a brief illness.
