The elders of Parkoso have established that the young men who stormed a Kumasi court to protest against Kofi Owusu, Abusuapanin of the Fosuh Family, are not members of their community as being purported.
They alleged that the individuals were hired by Evangelist Papa Shee for his `selfish interest’.
Speaking to the media on November 24, 2025, a representative of the elders said the community had conducted its own checks and found that none of the boys who claimed to be from Parkoso actually belonged to the town.
“We are here today because some children stormed the court to disgrace Abusuapanin. Those boys who came said they were from Parkoso but they lied. When you’re truly from the town and you’re able to tell the family you’re from, we will know you’re actually from the town,” they said.
According to the elders, their investigation revealed that the boys were hired, and they strongly suspect Papa Shee of orchestrating the act.
“After investigating, we realised none of them were the correct youth of Parkoso. They were hired to do what they did and I suspect Papa Shee. I suspect him because I saw a video of him on social media when he was organising the boys and I have my proof here,” they stated.
They insisted that no one has the authority to dethrone the Abusuapanin, describing him not only as a respected elder of the home but also the head of the Ashanti Akuona clan family.
“We want to tell the world that no one can dethrone Abusuapanin. He’s not just a home elder, he’s the Ashanti Akuona clan family head. If you’re respectful enough, you won’t think of disgracing him in court,” they shared.

On the ongoing legal matter, the elders stressed that it was not instigated by the Abusuapanin.
“We never wanted to be in this court but we are here today because of rivalry. It’s a court issue so we are all waiting for the court to bring its judgment.
“Abusuapanin has not sent anyone to court. It was the wives who sent Abusuapanin to court so we are patiently waiting for the court’s judgment,” they noted.
They also expressed displeasure at the way some media houses have portrayed the elders in their reports.
“This is to the media. The way some of the media houses talk ill of the elders on social media is not nice. We are not happy with it at all,” they said.
The elders further distanced the community from Papa Shee, stating that he is not a member of their family.
“Papa Shee is not a member of our family. He claims Lumba was his friend so he should stop trying to create confusion on social media,” they added.
