Amid the backlash sparked by veteran broadcaster Israel Laryea’s wife, Louisa Laryea, who publicly criticised media personality Lily Mohammed over her views on the Ghanaian passport issued to American streamer IShowSpeed, comedian OB Amponsah has weighed in on the controversy.

In a Facebook post, dated January 28, 2026, OB Amponsah criticised Louisa Laryea for what he described as a pattern of body-shaming people online.

He argued that such remarks are often made without regard for their impact on individuals’ mental health.

He further stated that Louisa Laryea’s prominence in the public space is largely linked to her husband’s identity, questioning her tendency to launch personal attacks against others.

“How is Louisa Laryea always the first to call people names and body shame them when the only thing relevant about is her husband’s surname?” he wrote.

OB Amponsah also revisited a dispute with Louisa Laryea dating back to 2022, alleging that she once attacked him directly and extended the criticism to his parents, accusing them of failing in their responsibility to raise him properly.

According to the comedian, Louisa Laryea had previously questioned his abilities as a creative, stating, he lacked the talent and originality required to be considered a proper comedian.

Sharing his side of the story, OB Amponsah wrote:

“April 6, 2022. Louisa Laryea called me on the phone, and of course introduced herself as Israel Laryea’s wife and then proceeded to insulted me blue black. There I was, on the phone, hoping she had a gig for me, not knowing she was about to berate me for this joke. Anso hɔ aa, she went on Facebook to insult me and my parents and then threatened to slap me. And blocked everybody who disagreed with her. Me and her beef is forever… Nasɛm ba biaa mɛka bi. I promise.”
