Ghana Football Association (GFA) has confirmed that Marvin Senaya is eligible and ready to represent Ghana at international level, despite earlier interest from Togo.

The AJ Auxerre full-back was recently named in both Ghana and Togo squads for upcoming international friendlies, placing him in a unique dual-nationality situation. Senaya had initially been included in Togo coach Patrice Neveu’s squad for matches against Guinea and Niger, before earning a call-up to Ghana’s 26-man team for fixtures against Austria and Germany.

Born to a Ghanaian mother and a Togolese father, former Togo international Yao Mawuko Senaya, the defender was eligible to play for either nation. However, GFA Executive Council member Frederick Acheampong confirmed that the player has opted to commit his international future to Ghana.

According to Acheampong, Senaya has expressed excitement about the opportunity, with Auxerre teammates Gideon Mensah and Elisha Owusu also highlighting his pride in joining the Black Stars.

Ghana will face Austria on March 27 before taking on Germany on March 30, 2026, as part of preparations for upcoming international competitions.
