Ghanaian dancehall musician, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known as Shatta Wale, has issued a stern warning to netizens over their constant criticism on social media.

In a post shared on X on April 11, 2025, Shatta Wale stated that his primary focus is making music and generating revenue from his craft.

He emphasised that he is not in competition with any musician, contrary to ongoing speculations within the music industry.

“You think I am in competition with your so-called favourite, erh,” he said.

He further advised his critics to stop envying his success and instead focus on building a name for themselves.

“Ego shock you soon like high tension… Just be here and keep fooling and don’t look for money,” he added.

His comments come in response to recent backlash on social media after he welcomed Nigerian social media influencer Peller into the country.

Netizens took to various platforms to criticise the musician for giving what they described as unnecessary attention and publicity to a mere TikTok influencer.

They argued that the social media personality did not deserve such recognition.
