Liverpool have no plans to sell Cody Gakpo despite Tottenham making their interest in the forward known.

The Reds, who continue to work on a deal for Paris Saint-Germain‘s £145million-rated Bradley Barcola, are looking to add attacking quality rather than lose it.

Gakpo, 27, is contracted until 2030 and with current market prices escalating for players of his experience, it would take a huge sum to change Liverpool’s stance.

The Dutchman had a weaker season than usual last time out, scoring only nine goals, but is highly valued by Liverpool all the same. His best season, 2024-25, saw him bang in 18 goals.

Liverpool have already lost Mohamed Salah this summer and their only attacking arrival has been winger Víctor Munoz from Osasuna for £34.5million.

They paid PSV £44m for Gakpo in 2022.

Tottenham are also keeping a watching brief on Omar Marmoush at Manchester City as well as negotiating for Savinho.

Spurs have so far set about strengthening their defence and midfield.

Goalkeeper Martin Dubravka has arrived from Burnley on a free, while they have also picked up defenders Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi for nothing from Liverpool and Bournemouth respectively.

Their marquee defensive purchase has been Jan Paul van Hecke, for whom they paid Brighton £52m.

In midfield, they have signed Sandro Tonali from Newcastle for £100m and Mateus Fernandes from relegated West Ham for £85m.

Signing World Cup star Gakpo could, therefore, take Roberto De Zerbi’s summer spend close to  or even beyond £300m.

Meanwhile, Liverpool forward Keyrol Figueroa is attracting interest from Barnsley and Salford.

The 19-year-old impressed for the U21s during their recent camp in Slovakia, and scored in a friendly against Cardiff on Saturday.

Defender Wellity Lucky made a return from injury at the weekend, and will also be loaned out. Cardiff want Liverpool left-back Calum Scanlon on loan.
