Lawyers for Ghanaian actor, musician, and entrepreneur Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin have issued a cease-and-desist letter to Abrempong TV the unlawful and unauthorized broadcast of his movie “A Country Called Ghana.”

They are demanding GHS 1,000,000.00 in compensation.

The letter, dated 2nd September 2025 and signed by Enoch Sebastian Owusu Esq., Managing Partner of NexLaw Attorneys, accuses the Nsawam-based station of repeatedly airing the film without seeking authorization, license, or consent from the copyright holders, Weezy Empire.

According to the legal notice, several individuals confirmed the unauthorized broadcasts with video evidence, which the lawyers argue amounts to a blatant infringement of Lilwin’s intellectual property rights under Ghanaian law.

The lawyers state that Abrempong TV’s actions have not only violated Lilwin’s economic and moral rights but also caused substantial commercial loss and damage to his brand and production outfit.

The letter also warned that failure to comply with the demands within 14 days would result in legal action against the station.

The lawyers stressed that if litigation becomes necessary, they will also seek additional damages for breach of intellectual property rights as well as the cost of the lawsuit.
