A light plane with two people on board has crashed in Sydney‘s southwest.

Emergency services were called to Belimbla Park, in Oakdale just before midday on Saturday.

There are also unconfirmed reports of a second plane crash in the same area.

Smoke has been seen billowing into the sky above the scene of the crash, with witnesses reporting seeing a ‘fireball’ to Seven News.

‘Emergency services are responding to reports of a light plane crash,’ NSW Police said.

‘Members of the public are urged to avoid Oakdale in Sydney’s southwest and surrounding areas.

‘No further information is available at this time.’
