Ghanaian musician Kofi Kinaata has responded humorously to the Ashanti Regional Director of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), after the agency cautioned the public against consuming beverages and porridge served in plastic bags.

It may be recalled that health expert Jackson Adiyiah Nyantakyi, in a viral video, stated that consuming porridge in a plastic bag is equivalent to smoking 36 sticks of cigarettes.

Reacting to the video, Kofi Kinaata took to his X page on May 4, 2025, to express his shock, noting that he has been drinking porridge from plastic bags since the age of two.

“The Bible even says man shall not live by bread alone. This means if you have bread, you should eat it with koko. Now they’re saying drinking porridge from a plastic bag is like smoking 36 sticks of cigarettes. Then that means we started smoking at age two because we drank porridge every morning,” he said.

The musician jokingly pleaded with his fans and the EPA to let him enjoy one final cup of porridge in a plastic bag.

“The porridge they bought for me this morning is also in a plastic bag. Allow me to smoke my last 36 sticks. Someone should bring me a lighter so I can drink my last 36. After this, I won’t do it again. I’ll check into rehab right after,” he added.
