Ghanaian movie producer Leila Djansi has advocated for young men who are not emotionally or financially prepared for fatherhood to consider vasectomy as an option.

In a social media post, she argued that vasectomy is a reversible procedure and a better alternative to getting women pregnant when they are not ready to raise a child.

She believes that encouraging young men to take this step could help reduce the number of unwanted children and contribute to a better society.

“Stop abortion at the source. Vasectomies are reversible. Make every young man have one. When he’s deemed financially and emotionally fit to be a father, it can be reversed,” she wrote in a now-deleted post.

Djansi’s comments focus on a shift in perspective, urging men to take proactive responsibility for their reproductive health, particularly when they are not prepared for parenthood.

Her views have since sparked a conversation around sexual responsibility, family planning, and the societal impacts of unplanned pregnancies.
