League leaders Medeama SC will look to strengthen their grip at the top of the Ghana Premier League when they face Samartex FC in a crucial encounter on Sunday.

The Yellow and Mauves have emerged as one of the most consistent sides this season, particularly away from home. Medeama have suffered just one defeat in their last eight away league matches, recording three wins and four draws in that period.

Their impressive run on the road has been instrumental in their rise to the summit of the table. The team’s tactical discipline, squad depth and mental resilience have enabled them to grind out results in difficult venues while maintaining steady momentum in the title race.

Medeama’s recent performances have combined defensive solidity with attacking efficiency, making them one of the toughest sides to break down while remaining dangerous in front of goal.

However, Samartex have already shown they can frustrate the league leaders. The two teams played out a 1-1 draw earlier in the season, and Medeama will be eager to secure maximum points this time around.

Samartex, currently sixth with 35 points — level with Asante Kotoko — are unbeaten in their last six matches, winning three and drawing two. The Timber Giants’ recent form reflects their growing confidence, with defensive organization and clinical finishing proving key to their resurgence.

With Medeama aiming to consolidate their lead and Samartex seeking to close the gap on the frontrunners, Sunday’s fixture is expected to deliver a fiercely contested battle.
