Following letters of administration filed by Akosua Serwaa, one of the surviving wives of Ghana’s Highlife icon Daddy Lumba, at the Kumasi High Court, new details have emerged.
Recently, GhanaWeb reported that the late musician’s first wife, along with Ernestina Fosu (Lumba’s sister) and Charlyn Fosu (daughter), filed letters of administration at the Kumasi High Court to manage and distribute the late singer’s properties.
After pictures of the letters of administration surfaced online, some netizens accused Akosua Serwaa of forging her daughters’ names and credentials in the court document without her knowledge.
They also alleged that the late musician’s first wife was at loggerheads with her children after the document circulated online.

In a recent development, the children of the late singer, in a joint statement issued on January 20, 2026, have debunked the narrative circulating on social media.
In the statement, they emphasised that the allegations claiming their mother included Charlyn Fosu’s name in the letters of administration without her knowledge are false.
They stated that they stand in solidarity with their mother, and any rumours suggesting that they are at odds with her should be ignored.
“We are deeply concerned by comments and insinuations suggesting that we are in conflict with our mother, that there are intentions to arrest her for speaking or writing on our behalf, or that there is tension between us as children and our mother. These claims are entirely false, malicious, and baseless,” the statement read.
The children also addressed allegations implying that businessman Kenpong has ulterior motives regarding Akosua Serwaa.
“Even more troubling are the unfounded accusations directed at individuals such as Kenpong, who is being unfairly portrayed as having ulterior motives simply because he has offered support to our mother and to us, her children, during this difficult period in Ghana. Such allegations are reckless, misleading, and deeply unfair. We wish to state clearly and unequivocally that our relationship with our mother is strong, loving, and respectful.”

The children further urged Ghanaians, including fans and sympathisers, to disregard all allegations targeted at their mother, Akosua Serwaa, and the family at large.
“We therefore urge the public and all social media users to ignore these rumours and refrain from amplifying negativity. Our family is united. There is no conflict between our mother and us. Any claims to the contrary are deliberate falsehoods,” the statement added.
