Lasmid does not arrive in the studio armed with written lyrics or carefully mapped verses. Instead, he lets instinct take control of the moment the beat drops.
The Ghanaian artiste explained in an interview on Hitz FM that his creative process relies on spontaneity rather than preparation. He said he prefers to feel the rhythm first, allowing melodies to surface naturally before shaping words around them.
According to Lasmid, the music begins to form as soon as he hears the instrumental, with melodies leading and lyrics following afterward. This approach, he noted, helps him stay connected to the emotion of the song.
“One thing about me is I don’t write before entering the studio. Whenever I hear the beat, the melody starts flowing. I’m a melodist and the lyrics always come after the melody,” he said.

He added that the experience extends beyond his own creativity, describing his recording sessions as deeply calming for those who witness them. Lasmid believes the organic nature of his process creates an atmosphere people can truly feel.
“My recording session is a therapy to somebody. You will actually feel it. I listen to the beat and that’s when I start creating,” Lasmid disclosed.
