Prophet Prince Osei (L) says poor communication ruined his marriage with Empress Gifty (R)
Prophet Prince Osei, the former husband of Ghanaian gospel musician Empress Gifty, has detailed why despite multiple attempts to sustain their marriage, it couldn’t work.
In a video shared on Instagram on December 2, 2025, Prophet Prince Osei noted that their marriage ended on a rough note due to poor communication.
He explained that if he had learned how to communicate better with his ex-wife, they might have remained together.
According to him, prayer alone cannot sustain a marriage; therefore, following his divorce from the well-known gospel musician, he has focused on improving his communication skills.

“Prayer alone cannot sustain a marriage because there are a lot of factors involved. Also, what I have learned so far about marriage is that good communication is crucial.
“Faithfulness alone cannot sustain a marriage. Even if you want to have an affair with your wife, it all boils down to communication,” he said.
He also recounted how he met his ex-wife when she was still a seamstress.
“When I met her, she was a designer at Tema Community 1. When I saw her, I knew music would open a lot of opportunities for her because she had a good voice.
“Her brother introduced her to me. She wasn’t even a church member, but her brother pushed her to my church,” he added.
