Media personality Mawuli Ekpe Peter, popularly known as Abro, has accused rapper Kweku Smoke of betrayal following a gig he secured for the musician during the Christmas Eve celebrations.

In a discussion on GH Page TV, monitored by GhanaWeb on January 13, 2025, Abro alleged that he introduced Kweku Smoke to an event in Bogoso in the Eastern Region. However, after securing the gig, the rapper reportedly embarrassed him by going behind his back to demand additional payment after the negotiations and paperwork were finalized.

“I received a call from the owner of an event center, Ali, who needed Kweku Smoke to perform for them on December 27. They couldn’t reach him, so I got in touch with RapFada and asked for Kweku’s number,” Abro narrated.

“After discussing his charges, Kweku Smoke initially quoted one hundred thousand cedis, but we negotiated and settled on eighty thousand cedis. Because of network issues during December, I asked if I could send part payment, and he agreed.

“I sent him a thousand cedis as part payment due to the daily withdrawal limit of twenty thousand cedis. Afterward, I sent forty thousand cedis, which he later confirmed receiving. However, to my surprise, Ali informed me that Kweku Smoke claimed he had not received the payment. It appeared he made these claims because he realized Ali had sufficient funds,” Abro revealed.

Abro further alleged that Kweku Smoke changed the event date without informing him. The show, initially scheduled for December 27, 2024, was moved to January 3, 2025.

“He changed the agreed date from December 27 to January 3 without my notice. When I asked why, I was told he made the change because of me and that he wouldn’t attend if it was on December 27. Meanwhile, he had already been booked for another show on the same day,” Abro added.
