Ghanaian attacking midfielder Kwame Poku played a pivotal role to help Peterborough United secure an emphatic victory over Charlton Athletic in round 38 of the English League One campaign.

The 23-year-old started and lasted 54 minutes as his outfit cruised to a resounding 3-0 win over their opponent on Saturday at the Weston Homes Stadium.

Peterborough scored through Sam Hughes at the 38th-minute mark, assisted by the Ghanaian midfielder. The host doubled their advantage before the half-hour mark through England international Abraham Odoh.

The home team continued their dominance in the thrilling clash, with Malik Mothersille registering his name on the scoresheet to cement victory in the 79th minute.

Kwame Poku, who is enjoying an amazing season with Peterborough, was replaced early in the second half.

The 23-year-old has been outstanding for the League One outfit this season, scoring 10 goals and providing 6 assists in 20 appearances in the league campaign. He has 19 goal contributions in all competitions, scoring 10 and providing 9 assists from 23 matches.

Peterborough United are 15th on the league standings, accumulating 45 points from 37 matches. With this, qualification to the Championship looks impossible.
