Kwabena Kwabena captivated the crowd at King Promise’s “Promiseland” concert, delivering an unforgettable performance of his iconic hit “Aso.”

The legendary highlife artist had the audience on their feet, singing along to the song that has stood the test of time.

As part of the evening’s celebrations, Kwabena Kwabena also shared the stage with King Promise, whose song “Favourite Story” from his “True to Self” album sampled the popular beat from “Aso.”

After his electrifying performance, Becky GH from Hitz FM caught up with Kwabena Kwabena for a brief interview monitored by MyNewGH, where the artist expressed his gratitude for the enduring love Ghanaians have shown toward the song.

He said, “I’m truly happy to see that Ghanaians still appreciate ‘Aso’ after all these years. It’s an honour to know that my music continues to resonate with so many people.”

Looking ahead, the musician revealed exciting plans for 2025, when he will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the track that helped solidify his place in Ghana’s music history. “We’re going to do something special for the 20th anniversary of ‘Aso.’

“Trust me, it’s going to be a celebration to remember,” Kwabena Kwabena promised. He also shared that the anniversary event would coincide with his annual Valentine’s Day show, a tradition that has become a staple for many fans.

Kwabena Kwabena was quick to acknowledge the rise of a new generation of artists, noting how artists like King Promise have drawn inspiration from his work.

“It’s amazing to see the younger artists like King Promise carry the torch. I see elements of my style in their music, and I’m proud to see how the genre continues to evolve.”
