R&B Promotions presented “Philly Fight Night 7” at the 2300 Arena, featuring four amateur bouts and five professional contests. The evening was headlined by knockout artist Kurt Scoby, who extended his remarkable stoppage streak with a fourth-round TKO of Alfredo Rodolfo Blanco.

Scoby returned to the ring in the eight-round welterweight main event against southpaw Alfredo Rodolfo Blanco.

Scoby spent the opening round cautiously studying Blanco’s unusual style before committing more fully to his power in the second. A left hand to the body sent Blanco to the canvas for the first knockdown of the fight.

Blanco beat the count and continued, but Scoby scored again later in the round, this time dropping him with a left hook to the head.

Blanco once again rose and, to his credit, survived the third and fourth rounds without another knockdown. After the fourth round, however, Blanco retired in his corner.

The official result was Scoby by TKO at 3:00 of the fourth round.

Scoby’s last 15 wins have all been by m knockout, his record to 20-2 (18 KOs). Blanco falls to 24-17-1 (11 KOs).

    Fisher Wins Pro Debut

The co-main event featured the professional debut of Philadelphia’s Nicole “Authentic Queen Nic” Fisher, an amateur champion and Philadelphia police officer, against Jozette Cotton in a four-round middleweight bout.

Fisher used her reach and foot movement to control the action from the outside. Cotton consistently moved forward but struggled to establish sustained offense against Fisher’s movement and range.

A right hand from Fisher in the closing moments of the third round visibly affected Cotton.

The bout went the distance without a knockdown, with the scores 40-36, 40-36, and 39-37, all for Fisher

Fisher begins her professional career 1-0, while Cotton falls to 0-5-1.

    Peñaranda Wins Philadelphia Debut

Undefeated Bayonne, New Jersey, welterweight Justin “The Promise” Peñaranda made his Philadelphia debut against veteran Martin “El Gato” Diaz in a six-round bout.

Peñaranda controlled the opening round before establishing his power in the second, visibly hurting Diaz while landing thudding shots to the body. In the third, a left uppercut split Diaz’s guard.

Diaz settled in during the second half of the fight and remained competitive, particularly during a heated exchange that closed the bout. Peñaranda nevertheless maintained control on the scorecards.

All three judges scored the fight 60-54 Peñaranda.

Peñaranda goes six rounds for the first time and remains unbeaten at 5-0-1 (4 KOs). Diaz falls to 18-24-2 (8 KOs).

Marrero Wins Pro Debut in Hometown

Philadelphia’s Alexander “The Great” Marrero made his professional debut against Rasuiod “The Reaper” Hollie in a four-round super bantamweight contest.

Marrero immediately displayed advantages in both hand and foot speed, using those attributes to control the first three rounds. Hollie had his best moments in the fourth, connecting with several straight right hands to Marrero’s head.

The fight went the distance without a knockdown. All three official judges scored the bout 40-36 Marrero.

Marrero begins his professional career 1-0, while Hollie drops to 1-4 (1 KO).

    Gonzalez Earns First Decision Victory

The professional portion of the card opened with the return of Iselin, New Jersey’s “Dangerous” Danny Gonzalez, who faced Shaquille “Gold Rush” Rushing in a four-round super lightweight bout.

Gonzalez came out aggressively, looking to establish his left hook. The most effective punch of the opening round was from Rushing, a counter right hand that briefly staggered Gonzalez.

Gonzalez found his left hook more consistently in the second and remained the busier fighter in the third. Both men had their moments in a competitive fourth round.

The judges scored the bout 38-38, 39-37, and 39-37, giving Gonzalez a majority decision victory.

It was Gonzalez’s first professional victory by decision, improving his record to 7-2-1 (6 KOs). Rushing falls to 0-12-1.

    Brewer Wins Amateur Battle

The amateur portion of the evening included a 154-pound contest between Chance Kasperski and Mekhi Brewer.

The southpaw Brewer landed a clean jab in the opening round. Kasperski had success in the second, but Brewer responded with combinations to the head and body that produced a standing eight count.

Brewer scored another standing eight in the third before the bout went the full three-round distance.

Brewer was awarded the official decision.

    Ruiz Takes Decision Over Bane

In a 150-pound amateur contest, two southpaws, Damon Bane and Isaac Ruiz, met in a competitive three-round bout.

Both fighters landed effective punches throughout, including a long left hand from Ruiz in the second round.

The contest went the distance without a knockdown, with Ruiz receiving the official decision.

    Jenkins Wins Opening Amateur Bout

The evening began with a 125-pound amateur contest between two 15-year-olds, Omar Jenkins and Angel Atenco.

Jenkins and Atenco battled for three rounds without a knockdown. Jenkins was awarded the official decision, with The Fight Photos also scoring the bout for Jenkins.

Masionet and Cartegena Entertain in Developmental Bout

The featured amateur attraction was a 114-pound developmental bout between 11-year-old Luian Masionet and 12-year-old Miguel Cartegena Jr.

The young fighters put on an entertaining three-round contest, exchanging punches throughout.

In an exciting exchange in the second, Masionet connected with an overhand right, while Cartegena answered with a left hook.

Because the contest was a developmental bout, no official decision was rendered.

    Scoby Headlines Nine-Bout Philadelphia Card

“Philly Fight Night 7” combined four amateur contests with five professional bouts at the 2300 Arena, giving Philadelphia-area fighters and prospects an opportunity to showcase their skills.

The evening concluded with the most emphatic performance of the night, as Scoby scored two knockdowns before Blanco’s corner stopped the contest after four rounds. With his latest victory, Scoby’s last 15 wins have all come by knockout.

The event is available for on-demand replay on BXNGtv.com.
