Renowned Kumawood actor, Berma Bediide, has strongly refuted claims that Ghana’s movie industry, particularly the Kumawood sector, has collapsed.

In a recent interview, Bediide fired back at critics, asserting that the industry is still very much alive and active.

He urged Ghanaians to disregard what he described as baseless speculations about the demise of the local film sector.

Bediide, a well-known face in the Kumawood movie scene, argued that only those with a “myopic view” would claim that the industry has collapsed.

He emphasized that such statements are far from the truth and do not reflect the current state of Ghana’s film industry.

According to him, the industry is still thriving, with many actors, producers, and crew members actively working on new projects.

The actor also took a swipe at critics, suggesting that anyone who believes the industry has collapsed is either not watching television or does not own a smartphone.

He implied that such individuals are out of touch with the reality of the industry’s progress and the content being produced.

“People who say the industry has collapsed are not paying attention. If you have a TV or a smartphone, you’ll see that Kumawood and Ghanaian movies are still very much alive. We are working hard to keep the industry moving forward,” Bediide stated.
