Veteran Kumawood actress Maame Gyanwaa has opened up about two frightening incidents she says occurred while filming a movie believed to be titled Batman, revealing that she came close to losing her life during production.

According to the actress, she played the wife of actor Mr Beautiful in the movie, with one of the scenes requiring her character to be killed as part of a money ritual.

The scene was scheduled to be filmed around midnight after earlier scenes had taken longer than expected. As part of the sequence, Maame Gyanwaa was placed inside a coffin while Mr Beautiful performed the ritual actions over her.

She recalled that shortly after the coffin was sealed, Mr Beautiful reportedly fell onto it and began crying uncontrollably.

Gyanwaa said she then felt a sudden rush of cold air before losing consciousness.

According to her account, the director was also experiencing what appeared to be sleep paralysis at the same time and was unable to call for the scene to be stopped.

When she eventually regained consciousness, she reportedly found members of the production crew surrounding her and embracing her, seemingly relieved that she had regained consciousness.

The actress said the crew later returned to their hotel and reviewed the footage from the scene, only to discover that the cameras had failed to capture anything.

According to Gyanwaa, the crew subsequently attributed the unusual experience to their failure to pour libation before commencing the ritual scene.

After performing the ritual, the production team reportedly returned to the location and filmed the scene again.

This time, she said, the shoot proceeded without incident and the footage was successfully recorded.

Gyanwaa also recounted another incident from the same production that she believes could have had fatal consequences.

In the scene, Mr Beautiful was supposed to push her into a swimming pool.

The actress said she briefly stepped away from the set to pray before the scene was filmed. However, the director reportedly called her back before she had finished praying.

Shortly after she returned to the poolside, Gyanwaa said lights and other electrical equipment suddenly toppled into the water.

She believes the consequences could have been devastating had she already entered the pool when the electrical equipment fell into it.

The actress said she could potentially have been exposed to an electric shock had she been in the water at the time.
