Kudus will play in his first official game for Spurs against PSG

Mohammed Kudus will make his competitive debut for Tottenham Hotspur tonight, Wednesday, August 13, 2025, as they face Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup at the Stadio Friuli in Udine, Italy.

The 24-year-old Ghanaian midfielder, signed this summer, has already impressed in pre-season, notably setting up both goals in a 2-0 friendly win over Reading. But under the floodlights of Udine, Kudus now steps onto one of European football’s biggest stages, with silverware at stake.

This marks Tottenham’s first-ever appearance in the UEFA Super Cup, earned after their Europa League triumph in May 2025, a 1-0 win over Manchester United in Bilbao that ended a 17-year trophy drought and delivered their first European title since 1984.

Kudus will start alongside fellow debutant Joao Palhinha, forming a midfield tasked with breaking PSG’s press and creating chances for Richarlison up front. Spurs are without key playmakers James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski, while Yves Bissouma misses out for disciplinary reasons.

UEFA Super Cup: Kudus’ stage to write his first Spurs chapter against PSG

PSG arrive as reigning Champions League winners but haven’t played since their 3-0 loss to Chelsea in the Club World Cup final.

Luis Enrique’s side remain packed with talent, though rust could be a factor. Spurs, in contrast, have had six pre-season matches to fine-tune their rhythm. For Kudus, the stakes are personal as well as collective.

A strong debut could endear him instantly to the Tottenham faithful and set the tone for his Premier League journey.

Kick-off is at 19:00 GMT, and all eyes will be on whether the Ghanaian can make his first night in white a historic one.
