Asante Kotoko‘s head coach, Dr. Prosper Ogum Nartey, has been relieved of his role as a member of the club’s Interim Management Committee (IMC).
According to the club, the decision was made to enable the coach to focus entirely on managing the squad rather than dealing with managerial duties at the top level.
“This decision allows Dr. Ogum to fully dedicate his efforts to his primary role as head coach, with a continued focus on leading the team to success on the pitch,” the club stated in an official announcement.
Since his reappointment as head coach in 2023, Prosper Ogum Nartey has been balancing responsibilities. He was named as part of a four-member IMC, tasked with overseeing the club’s affairs in the absence of a substantive board.
The IMC included Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, who serves as the Kontomponiaferehene and is a chartered accountant, Sudan national team head coach James Kwasi Appiah, Prosper Ogum Nartey, and former Ghana Football Association official Emmanuel Dasoberi.
Following Ogum’s departure, along with that of Dasoberi, the IMC now has only two members.
