Popular Ghanaian music promoter and event organizer, Sadick Assah, well known as Sleeky, the CEO of Sleeky Promotions, has officially begun a campaign for dancehall giant Stonebwoy to be crowned the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Artist of the Year.

Sleeky, who has been a staunch supporter of Stonebwoy for years, believes the multiple award-winning musician stands tall above all contenders following his massive successes in 2024.

In a post he made online, Sleeky meticulously outlined all of Stonebwoy’s achievements in 2024, listing his numerous music releases, international collaborations, and groundbreaking performances.

According to him, no other artist in the country worked harder than Stonebwoy last year, making him the most deserving candidate for the prestigious award.

From music releases such as “Ekelebe,” “Your Body,” “Pray for Me,” and “Jejereje,” to high-profile collaborations with artists like NSG, Prince Buk Bak, Jordin Sparks, Beeztrap KOTM, APN, Gariba, and D’Yani, Sleeky believes that Stonebwoy’s 2024 music catalog was undeniably impressive.

Beyond studio work, Sleeky emphasized that Stonebwoy’s stage presence was even more dominant.

He indicated that Stonebwoy graced some of the biggest platforms both locally and internationally, including the Africa Prosperity Champions Awards, the TECNO CAMON 30 Series launch, the TGMA 25th Anniversary Industry Mixer, and his own Bhim Festival Beach Edition in Accra.

Internationally, Sleeky added that 1Gad represented Ghana at the Cali Vibes Festival in California, the Reggae Geel Festival in Belgium, and the World Music Day Carnival Concert in Paris, among others.

Sleeky emphasized that Stonebwoy’s impact was not only felt in Ghana but across the globe.

He stated that the musician’s ability to maintain such an outstanding level of consistency, sell-out shows internationally, and still release top-charting records is a clear indication that no one deserves the Artist of the Year title more than him.

However, the race is already heating up, with two other strong names—King Paluta and King Promise—garnering significant support.

For King Paluta, the Kumasi-based rap sensation has received a massive endorsement from key figures in the Ashanti Region, with popular event MC Portfolio leading the charge for his Artist of the Year bid.

On the other hand, King Promise, who has had an exceptional year as well, has the unwavering backing of his manager and record label boss, Killbeatz, who is equally pushing for him to secure the coveted title but to Sleeky the VGMA board must not be sympathetic that he lost last year and give him an upper hand this year.
