Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, the Government Spokesperson on Governance and Security, has strongly criticized Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako for his recent comments regarding the tragic accident involving his son. Speaking on JoyNews’ AM Show on October 21, 2024, Boakye-Danquah characterized Bishop Amoako’s remarks as insensitive and dismissive, given the gravity of the situation.

During a church service on October 20, 2024, Bishop Amoako defended his son, Elrad Salifu Amoako, asserting that the incident was simply an unfortunate accident. “It was an accident. My son did not carry a gun to go and kill anybody,” the bishop stated. In response, Boakye-Danquah emphasized that the reckless driving of Bishop Amoako’s son resulted in the tragic deaths of two young girls and should not be minimized to just an accident.

Boakye-Danquah noted that the incident has left Ghanaians, both locally and abroad, deeply affected. He urged Bishop Amoako to refrain from making any further public statements regarding the matter, cautioning that such comments could exacerbate public outrage. He advised the bishop to allow the legal process to unfold without additional commentary.
