Abdul Karim Zito, Head Coach for Dreams FC

Head coach of Dreams FC, Abdul-Karim Zito, has urged his players to raise their performance levels as they fight to escape relegation from the Ghana Premier League (GPL).

Dreams FC had a remarkable 2023/24 season, finishing ninth in the league and reaching the semifinals of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Despite last season’s success, the current campaign has been challenging. Dreams FC has struggled, frequently finding themselves in the GPL’s relegation zone.

Currently sitting 15th on the league table with 11 points, Dreams FC has endured four defeats and five draws, with their first win coming in the 10th game week against 2023 champions Medeama at home.

They are level on points with Legon Cities, who occupy a spot in the relegation zone. In light of these difficulties, Zito has issued a strong warning to his players.

“I talk to them all the time. I’ve been a player before, and I know how to psych them up. I told them it’s not over. Still, we shouldn’t think that because we’re out of the bottom, we’ve survived. We haven’t survived yet. I want us to finish the first round on a good note so that the second round will be a little bit easier for us,” Zito emphasized at a press conference.

Dreams FC will face Karela United on Sunday, November 24, 2024, aiming for their third consecutive win of the season.

With Karela coming into the match on the back of three straight losses, Zito would be optimistic about his team’s chances at the Theater of Dreams in Dawu.
