Amber Rose and her ex-boyfriend, Kanye West
Amber Rose, an ex-girlfriend of Kanye West, has revealed the real reason he ‘dresses his girlfriends’ in revealing outfits, opening up on their past relationship in a recent interview.
Amber Rose and Kanye West dated from 2008 until 2010 when things began to go south.
The 41-year-old model has previously accused Kanye, 47, of calling her a ‘prostitute’ and bullying her.
This time with Shannon Sharpe on his ‘Club Shay Shay’ podcast, Rose opened up on what it felt like to be in a relationship with Kanye and how he always has an impact on the way his partner dresses.
During the interview, Amber was asked about her thoughts on how Kanye’s wife Bianca Censori has portrayed herself in outfits after their 2025 Grammys red carpet stunt.
Amber said: ‘Kanye is for sure dressing her like that. Yeah, he did the same thing to me and Kim. It’s just who he is.
‘He wants other men to want his woman. That’s what he’s into, he likes that. He likes that men are drooling over his woman. That’s what he’s into.’
‘He wants all his friends to want to f*** his girlfriend. He wants everybody to know that when you walk in a room, that his girlfriend or wife is the most desirable.’
Sharpe then asked: ‘And you dressed like that because that’s what he wanted, you wanted to please your man?’
‘I was young and I’m gonna tell Kanye now, when I’m that young it’s like okay, you’re buying me this stuff, I do look pretty and cool.’, she answered.
‘But if you look at old pictures of me when I’m dating Kanye but I’m out by myself, I have all his clothes on.’
‘I have baggy jeans on, a T-shirt, a big jacket. I raided his closet when he wasn’t home. I would wear all his stuff because I used to hate to dress like a w****.’
‘I used to hate it so I used to rebel when he wasn’t home and go in his closet. I’m in sweatpants usually with some Jordans on, maybe a little dad hat or something. I’m very casual.’
Shannon then referenced a see-through style dress Amber once wore while she was in a relationship with Kanye and asked how that came about.

‘Yes, I did. I cried. I remember crying,’ she candidly recalled, ‘I was in like Italy or Paris or something and I remember crying and arguing with him and being like I don’t f****** want to wear this s***, I don’t wanna wear it.’
‘[He said] You don’t understand, it’s fashion, I’m a genius. ‘It’s like, okay, I still don’t wanna wear it but I went in wearing it, they ate me up on the internet.’
Amber added that choosing a similar outfit wouldn’t be the case today and this is not the first time the model has weighed in on this subject.
In March 2024, she revealed that Kanye wanted her to ‘dress very sexy’ during their two-year relationship, though she was ‘conservative’ at a young age.
On the Just B With Bethenny Frankel podcast, Amber Rose said: “I am conservative, actually. I have always been conservative since I was young.”
She further stated that dating Ye transformed her into a “sexpot type of girl.”
It was reportedly Amber Rose’s first high-profile relationship, and she said Kanye West, who is known for his fashion sense, encouraged her to dress “very sexy.”
Although those clothes didn’t reflect her true self, Amber went along with it at the time as she was 24, while West was in his early 30s.
Rose also revealed that the “sexy” image stuck with her after their breakup, adding that industry figures pushed for that persona, asking her to do bikini-clad shoots. “I’m so not her”, she said.
Kanye West is yet to respond to Amber Rose’s claims, yet many have stood behind the model on social media, believing the rapper could be why his partners “reveal too much of their skin.”
