Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana

Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana is nearing a move to Atalanta BC in the Italian Serie A from Southampton in the English Premier League ahead of the 2025-2026 season.

This is according to sports journalist and Italian football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who stated on his X page on June 25 that the Black Stars player is closing in on a deal to join the Italian side.

Sulemana will be handed a four-year deal with the final year being an optional year for the team should the deal get completed.

Should the deal get finalised, Sulemana will join Ivan Juric at Atalanta after the pair worked together briefly at Southampton in the recently ended season.

A Citisports report on June 25, 2025, indicated that under Juric, Sulemana had his most consistent run of appearances and delivered his best performance of the 2024-2025 campaign in Southampton’s 3-1 loss to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Juric was appointed as Atalanta’s head coach following long-tenured coach Gianpiero Gasperini’s departure to AS Roma.

Former Hellas Verona and Torino head coach Juric left Southampton after the club’s relegation to the Championship was confirmed.

Sulemana scored two goals and added three assists in 30 games in all competitions at Southampton last season.
