Vice President Kamala Harris‘ campaign spent the week throwing things at the wall to see what would stick as swing state polls show the Democrat in a precarious position and betting markets predict a Donald Trump win.
And now, as she marks her 60th birthday this Sunday, she’ll spend it on the campaign trail – as she headed to New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Stonecrest, Georgia to shore up her support with black voters.
This week Harris has appeared with celebrities, surrounded herself with anti-MAGA Republicans and made her first appearance on Fox News Channel, in an effort to bring together her base and steal Republicans from Trump.
Her campaign teased that she might do Joe Rogan‘s podcast – as she tries to peel off some men too.
She sat down with Charlamagne the God in Michigan and will talk to Rev. Al Sharpton Sunday, after her appearance at the Georgia black church.

Harris started enlisting more celebrities – as Lizzo appeared Saturday alongside the Democratic nominee in Detroit and then Usher appeared onstage with Harris at an Atlanta rally.
The vice president has also sharpened her attacks on Trump and started addressing his comments in real-time.
At her rally in Erie, Pennsylvania Monday night, Harris Trump as ‘increasingly unstable and unhinged.’
She then showed not told.
‘Please roll the clip,’ she said.
On the two jumbotrons at the downtown Erie hockey and basketball stadium Trump’s face appeared.
The montage included several snippets from his rallies and then the controversial comments he made Sunday to Fox’s Maria Bartiromo.
‘I think the bigger problem are the people from within, we have some very bad people, sick people, radical left lunatics,’ Trump had said. ‘And it should be easily handled by, if necessary, by National Guard, or if really necessary, by the military.’

At an event Wednesday in Bucks County, Pennsylvania – one of Philadelphia’s suburban counties – Vice President Kamala Harris surrounded herself with anti-Trump Republicans who were supporting her candidacy
‘You heard his words. You heard his words coming from him. He’s talking about the enemy within Pennsylvania. He’s talking about the enemy within our country, Pennsylvania,’ Harris said.
‘He’s talking about – that he considers anyone who doesn’t support him or who will not bend to his will, an enemy of our country,’ she continued, cuing scattered boos. ‘It’s a serious issue. He’s saying that he would use the military to go after them. Think about this?’
Harris said ‘we know who he would target’ from similar comments he’s made in the past.
‘Journalists whose stories he doesn’t like. Election officials who refuse to cheat by fielding extra votes or finding extra votes for him. Judges who insist on following the law instead of bending to his will,’ Harris said. ‘This is among the reasons I believe so strongly that a second Trump term would be a huge risk for America and dangerous.’
She deployed a similar tactic against Trump when she addressed autoworkers in Lansing, Michigan on Friday.
‘Make no mistake, Donald Trump is no friend to labor. He is no friend to labor. And we’ve got to listen to what he says,’ Harris said. ‘In fact, can we roll the clip?’
After a brief pause, Trump’s face popped up onscreen, with the real estate developer saying that he ‘used to hate to pay overtime’ and would ‘go out and get other people and let them work regular time.’
In another clip Trump says they ‘build everything in Germany and then they assemble it here.’

‘They get away with murder,’ he went on. ‘Because they say, “oh yes, we’re building cars.” They don’t build cars. They take them out of a box and they assemble them.’
‘We could have our child do it,’ Trump said.
Harris also played the clip of Trump telling Elon Musk that striking workers would be ‘all gone’ and the GOP nominee saying that the leader of the UAW, Shawn Fain – who backs Harris – ‘should be fired immediately.’
The clips prompted boos from the audience in the pivotal swing state.
‘Donald Trump, listen to his words. He’s saying that autoworkers are essentially engaged in child’s play. That children could do it,’ Harris said. ‘He thinks that the value of your work is essentially meaningless, to compare it to child’s work. When we here know the work you do is complex.’
Talking to reporters in Detroit Saturday, she reiterated her attack on Trump as ‘increasingly unstable’ when asked why she decided to start showing clips of his comments at her events.
The campaign is putting a lot of effort into drawing away disaffected Republicans – as the left-flank of the Democratic Party could refuse to turn out – or vote third-party – as a protest over the Biden-Harris administration’s position on the war in Gaza.

Leftist Democrats believe President Joe Biden, and in turn Harris, have been too supportive of Israel’s assault on Gaza.
The Harris campaign held an event for Republicans Wednesday in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where she was flanked onstage by some of the most prominent anti-Trump voices in the GOP, including former Rep. Adam Kinzinger and former Pence aide Olivia Troye.
It was similar to an event she held in the birthplace of the Republican Party – Ripon, Wisconsin – earlier this month with former Republican Rep. Liz Cheney.
Harris will hit the campaign trail next week in the ‘blue wall’ states – Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin – alongside Cheney, she said Saturday.
Harris was asked Saturday in Detroit if she feared that the war in Gaza could lose her the election, as Michigan is the birthplace of the so-called ‘uncommitted’ movement, with Democratic primary voters opposed to the war making that choice against Biden in the Democratic primary in the spring.
‘Well, it is undeniable that it is something that everyone is aware of what is happening there, I speak publicly all the time about the fact that there are so many tragic stories coming from Gaza and, of course, the first in this phase of everything that has happened, the first and most tragic story is October 7,’ Harris replied. ‘And what happened that day and then what has happened since.’
‘And I think what’s critically important as we look at this moment is 1.) acknowledging the tragedy of what has happened in Gaza in terms of the extraordinary number of innocent Palestinians who’ve been killed and taking that seriously and speaking truth about that, in addition, of course, to what I said about what happened on October 7 in terms of 1,200 innocent Israelis being slaughtered, women being horribly raped, and then fast-forwarding to today with the killing of Sinwar,’ she continued, referencing the leader of Hamas killed by the Israelis.
‘This creates an opening that I believe we must take full advantage of to dedicate ourselves to ending this war and bringing the hostages home,’ the vice president added.
Harris did not answer the question directly about losing the election over Gaza.
