Jasir “King Ja” Junior kept his perfect record intact Saturday night, outworking hometown fighter Tyrone Arzeno over six rounds to win a majority decision in the main event of Teflon Promotions’ “RE:PLAY VOL 4” at The Grand Ballroom. Four of the five bouts went the distance, and Derek Moore and Jerome McNeill each earned their first professional wins.

Main event: Junior survives Arzeno’s late push

The six-round flyweight bout was a step up for both men. Arzeno had never gone past the third round, and the 21-year-old Junior, of Newburgh, NY, had won his only previous pro fight by first-round knockout.
Arzeno used his height and reach advantages to take the opening round. From the second round on, both fighters abandoned the jab and fought on the inside, where Junior’s faster hands and higher punch volume carried rounds two through four.
Arzeno rallied in the fifth, landing a series of left hooks to the head and body. Both men were willing to trade in the sixth, with Junior connecting on a leaping left hook down the stretch.
There were no knockdowns. One judge scored it 57-57, while the other two had it 60-54 and 58-56 for Junior. Junior moves to 2-0 (1 KO); Arzeno falls to 5-3 (5 KOs).

Co-main: Adams sharp behind the jab

Philadelphia cruiserweight Vaughn “Vhustle” Adams turned in the best performance of his young career, sweeping Bamidele “Big $$$ BG” Gray-Adeleye over four rounds. Adams controlled the fight with his jab, and in the second round he backed Gray-Adeleye to the ropes and landed a clean overhand right.
All three judges scored it 40-36 for Adams. There were no knockdowns. Adams went the distance for the first time and improves to 2-1 (1 KO); Gray-Adeleye drops to 0-3.

Undercard

Marrero edges Mancil in split decision.

Alexander “The Great” Marrero stayed unbeaten in a close four-round featherweight fight with Alex “Mankill” Mancil. Mancil started faster, out-throwing and out-landing Marrero in the first. Marrero took control in the second whenever the two engaged, the third was a back-and-forth round, and Marrero worked behind his jab in the fourth. With no knockdowns, two judges scored it 39-37 Marrero and one had it 39-37 Mancil. Marrero is now 2-0; Mancil falls to 0-3.

McNeill gets first win with a body shot.

Jerome “Java Lava Mr. Do Damage” McNeill, who debuted last December in a slugfest, needed less than a round to collect his first pro victory. In a four-round super middleweight bout between two fighters still looking for a win, McNeill came forward calmly against the unorthodox Jerry James. James kept his chin high, but it was a body shot that ended it: he doubled over on the ropes, lost his mouthpiece and went down, unable to beat referee Eric Dali’s count. The official result was a KO at 2:37 of the first. McNeill is now 1-1 (1 KO); James is 0-2.

Moore wins debut in front of hometown crowd.

The night opened with Philadelphia’s Derek “The Maestro” Moore making his pro debut against David Bedai Quiros in a four-round featherweight bout. Moore pressed forward and was the more accurate and active puncher throughout. Quiros opened as a southpaw and switched stances during the fight but never built a steady attack from either. Moore dropped him with a right hand in the final minute of the fourth. All three judges scored it 40-35 for Moore. Moore is 1-0; Quiros falls to 0-2.
