Veteran sound engineer Fred Kyei Mensah, better known as Fredyma, has expressed his support for artiste Josepeh Matthew to win the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) Urban Gospel Song of the Year accolade.

Fredyma specifically noted that the multiple award-winning Urban Gospel singer is a strong contender for the award.

He suggested that the artiste’s work in the year under review could earn him the award.

“An artiste like Joseph Matthew… He is a fantastic artiste. I’ve followed him from his very first song, and he just gets music. What really stands out is his vocal strength; you can hear every word.

“Plus, he weaves in so many great African rhythms, and he nails the timing, tuning, and tempo in his songs. He’s something special. His song ‘Fear No Evil’ is magical. He is a strong contender for this category.”

The sound engineer further highlighted the significant progress and contributions of Urban Gospel artistes in Ghana over the past year.

“This is one of the great pieces of news about this year’s TGMA. The introduction of the Urban Gospel Category is excellent. So many artistes from this genre are going to benefit. It is a very competitive category,” Fredyma said.

Joseph Matthew, in the year under review, released ‘Fear No Evil.’ The multiple award-winning Afrocentric artiste showcased his lyrical talent, rapping with confidence, in this dynamic and exciting track.

As a thrilling journey, ‘Fear No Evil’ reflects Joseph Matthew’s growth as an artiste and solidifies his position as a leading force in Afro-gospel music.

The song is accompanied by a well-directed music video.
