Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew has chosen Dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah, well known as Shatta Wale, as his favorite Ghanaian musician.

He explained that Wale is someone he has been admiring since his childhood days and has been listening to his songs during leisure hours.

The Leicester City forward indicated that Shatta Wale‘s exploits in the music industry, coupled with his musical talents, make him stand out among artistes in Ghana.

“For me, the Ghanaian artiste I look up to is Shatta Wale because he is the one I have always liked since I was a kid,” Ayew said when asked about his favorite musician during an interview with Joy Sports.

He also applauded Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy for his incredible work in the music industry, which has put Ghana on the map on the global stage.

“Stonebwoy is also doing quite well. So, I am a bit flexible,” he added.

Jordan Ayew captained the Black Stars in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers when they defeated Chad 5-0 on March 21, 2025, and secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Madagascar on March 25, 2025.

After six matches played, Ghana lead Group I with 15 points, followed by Comoros with 12 points, while Madagascar lie in third position with 10 points.
