Jordan Ayew now has 300 appearances in the PL

Black Stars captain Jordan Ayew made Premier League history on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, becoming the third African player with the most appearances in the competition.

The Leicester City forward came on as a substitute against Manchester City with just 10 minutes remaining, marking his 300th appearance and surpassing Nigeria’s Shola Ameobi, who had 298 appearances.

This milestone placed Ayew third on the all-time list of African players with the most Premier League appearances, behind Wilfried Zaha, who sits second with 305 appearances, and Kolo Touré, who leads the list with 352 appearances.

Zaha, in his Premier League career, had stints with Manchester United and Cardiff City before solidifying his legacy at Crystal Palace.

Meanwhile, Touré played for Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool, winning the title twice, once with Arsenal and once with Manchester City.

Across his 300 games, Ayew has played for Aston Villa, Swansea City, Crystal Palace, and now Leicester City.

He has scored 41 goals and provided 25 assists during his Premier League career.

Behind Ayew on the all-time list is Ameobi, who played for Stoke City, Newcastle United, and Crystal Palace. In fifth place is Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, currently with Liverpool, with 293 appearances.
