Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has surprised many fans with a cryptic message to actress Kate Henshaw on her birthday.

In a post shared on his Instagram page on July 20, 2025, the actor did not hold back as he poured out a mix of admiration, regret, and humour directed at his longtime colleague and friend.

His message, although filled with strong language, was laced with memories, what-ifs, and praise for the actress who turned a year older.

Jim Iyke started his message by expressing frustration over how Kate treated him in the early stages of their friendship.

According to him, she saw him as a younger brother, even though he wanted something more romantic.

“Fuck you, on behalf of my 23-year-old self for treating me like your baby brother when you knew all that time I wanted to hit that. You kept manipulating my black ass by always looking out for me, giving me heads-up at auditions, sometimes slipping a couple of bucks into my hands to make sure I got a meal or transport fare back to my cousin’s.

“Every time I stared into those dancing, beautiful eyes of yours, you knew I had imaginations that were far from friendly. Our love child would have been in his/her mid-twenties now if you had let me experiment with my seed just a couple of times. What a gorgeous human we would have made together!”

He then spoke about the time they eventually became intimate, describing it as a missed opportunity due to the mental state he was in at the peak of his fame.

He admitted that although he had a good heart, he was “crazy and dumb” at the time and was being misled by fame and outside influence.

“FUCK YOU KATE. Fuck you, ’coz when you finally lemme hit it, I was at the apex of my singular wildness and restlessness. You knew I had a great heart, but I was just crazy and dumb. I was overwhelmed with fame and too many voices in my ears, pointing me in the wrong directions.

“You stopped looking out for me. Took everything I did literally, then ran off and married that ‘Oyibo’. I’ll keep it a buck and say I didn’t think much of it. But a gorgeous, lovely baby came from that union. It did end in praise. I was so proud!”

Jim Iyke also used the opportunity to talk about how much of an impact Kate has had, not just on his life, but on society.

He said her beauty, fitness, and commitment to herself have made many young women feel pressured to meet impossible standards.

“FUCK YOU KATE. Fuck you on behalf of these young girls killing themselves and doing way too much trying to figure out how to keep up with you. You’ve caused hysteria, depression, anxiety, admiration, love, hate; a spectrum of human sentiments!

Poor darlings have had to BBL it, snatch it, tuck it, tie it, girdle it, needle it, Botox it, pound it, laser it, sew it, bleach it, even voodoo that shit to no avail. Nature, commitment and sacrifice didn’t create it. It can’t be manufactured. It’s a KATE HENSHAW world.”

Despite the strong language and emotional weight of his message, Jim Iyke ended the post with warmth and admiration, explaining that the use of the F-word was a playful and familiar way of showing affection, especially in Nigerian culture, where close friends can exchange insults out of love.

“Finally, FUCK YOU KATE. My circle is minuscule. Sometimes, I don’t see or hear from you in years. Yet, it’s sheer joy and unbridled spirit every time I run into you at various corners of the world. This fuck you is just because we’re Nigerians. We insult those we love! Time, matter, space and energy got nothing on our journey. Ours is the Barometer. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY DEAREST KO! @k8henshaw YOU ARE A PHENOMENAL CREATURE,” he concluded.
