WBC minimumweight champ Melvin Jerusalem (24-3, 12 KOs), 104.25, successfully kept his belt as he proved his superiority to former titlist Yudai Shigeoka (9-2, 5 KOs), 105, by scoring a unanimous decision (119-109, 118-110, 116-112) over twelve fast rounds on Sunday in Tokoname city, Japan. Melvin looked much sharper and smarter than in their first encounter, when the Filipino decked the Japanese defending titlist twice en route to a split decision win just a year ago.
