The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Council has reconfirmed Mawuko Afadzinu as Chair of its Sustainability Committee, reinforcing his growing influence in global table tennis governance.

Afadzinu remains the only African currently leading an ITTF Permanent Committee, highlighting his significant role in shaping the sport’s direction at the highest level. His reappointment is seen as a strong endorsement of his leadership and the progress made under his tenure.

As chair, Afadzinu continues to spearhead the ITTF’s “Planet Game Plan 2030,” an ambitious sustainability framework aimed at reducing carbon emissions, promoting environmental responsibility, and strengthening governance reforms across the sport.

The initiative aligns with global efforts to make sports more environmentally conscious while ensuring transparent and effective administration.

For Ghana and the African continent, Afadzinu’s position provides a vital voice in international decision-making, helping to advance regional interests within the sport. His dual role as President of the Ghana Table Tennis Association (GTTA) and ITTF committee chair further cements his status as a key figure in sports administration.
