Bechem United secured an impressive 3-1 victory over Eleven Wonders in their Ghana Premier League Matchweek 31 clash at the Swedru Stadium on Friday, May 1.
The visitors made a strong start to the game, with experienced forward Augustine Okrah netting twice in quick succession, including another strike on the stroke of half-time to give Bechem a comfortable lead heading into the break.
Eleven Wonders responded in the second half, with Eden Kofi Asamoah pulling one back to revive hopes for the hosts. However, Bechem United held firm and continued to threaten on the counter.
The game was put beyond doubt late on when Isaiah Nyarko scored at the death to restore the two-goal cushion and seal all three points for the Hunters.
Speaking after the game, Bechem United coach Kobina Amissah expressed satisfaction with the result, highlighting the importance of the victory in their ongoing campaign.
“I was very happy when we scored the early goal. These points are very important to us, and luckily for us, we won. The problem is that we are still battling [relegation]. It’s not over until it’s over,” he said after the game.
Bechem United now sit ninth on the table with 40 points and will next host Dreams FC at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park as they aim to continue their push up the standings.
