Media personality, Ola Michael, has expressed his views on the recent appointment of Yussif Jajah as the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts-designate.

In a discussion on United Showbiz on February 10, 2025, Ola Michael noted that President John Dramani Mahama‘s appointment is in the right direction.

He emphasised that he is not in support of some individuals suggesting that President Mahama should have appointed a creatives as the deputy minister.

“The challenge is, the moment you have a creative person as a minister, I would not agree that another creative person should be a deputy minister, and I think those in charge of appointments, in their wisdom, realised it’s a good thing. So, the rest can be in charge of other specific sectors,” he said.

Ola Michael also called on staunch National Democratic Congress (NDC) members in the creative arts industry to keep their fingers crossed.

According to him, President John Dramani Mahama might appoint them into sectors in which they have full knowledge.

“He is not done with the appointments. For all you know, he can appoint Rex Omar as board chair of the Ghana Tourism Authority. Also, the president’s vision for the Black Star Experience is a big one, and he might need their expertise on it… So, they should be patient because the president isn’t done with his appointments.

“I think if the president is done with his ministerial appointments and these people do not receive an appointment, they should stay calm because the party noticed their contributions, and they will appoint them in their area of expertise,” he added.
