Ghanaian rapper Nii Addo Quaynor, popularly known as Tinny has shared his thoughts on the struggles female musicians face in Ghana’s music industry.
Speaking in an interview on Daybreak Hitz on October 22, 2025, Tinny noted that the number of female artistes in the industry has always been low, attributing it to the challenges they encounter in sustaining their careers.
“We don’t have enough female musicians, it’s always been like that. It’s very difficult for female artistes to penetrate the industry, and when they do, they fade out quickly” he said.

According to the rapper, the female artistes need to possess resilience and determination in order to succeed in the music industry.
“It’s not new at all. You have to be tough enough to make it as a female artiste” he added.
